City to consider master plan for parks

Hi Leaf Supporters!

I recently saw an article that slightly pertains to us, and thought I would share with you all.
During the last City Council Meeting, the council is set to adopt a new park master plan. Part of the plan includes a look at supporting Urban Gardens. It further states that these groups are nonprofits and have support of AUSD, which includes us!! The city has received a $250,000 state grant that pays for a few of these types of projects among others.

Hi all!
Thought I would share an article with all of you. It's a scanned document from SPURs recent newsletter, about Urban Gardening in the city. Eli Zigas's project has a similar development to ours being the land is owned by the local police department, and was left abandoned for a number of years. Finally they found a way to work together. The article touches on many of the urban farm sites in San Francisco, which has approximately 76 various parcels each owned by different public agencies, and finding new ways for each of those agencies to work together. Hope this is of interest to you all.

Hi Readers of PL-

We currently would like to formally start an advisory board for our project and we need volunteers who are willing and able to meet once a month to discuss project objectives, help write the groups charter, look for various sources of funding and development forecasting.

If you are a motivated individual and would like to be a member of our board, please download the pdf from this link to download our flyer and apply today! There is no prior non-profit experience required. So what are you waiting for? Help project LEAF by becoming a member of the board.
