Alameda Community Garden - "Watch us Grow"

Hi all!

We had an excellent showing yesterday at the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. Over 350 people showed up from all ages and backgrounds. Thank you to all who attended!!!

I wanted to quickly thank Supervisor Wilma Chan's group for organizing the day's activities and bringing all the supplies together. To Alameda's Recreation & Park Department Director Amy Wooldridge for allowing us to start the momentum on this wonderful project, and all the groups that came out to support us.

A special thank-you also to Mayor Marie Gilmore, Vice Mayor Marilyn Ezzy-Ashcraft & State Assemblyman Rob Bonta for showing up and showing support for our project.

And last but certainly not least, a HUGE thank you for all the effort from Jim Sweeney. One of the first to arrive and last to leave, he championed major efforts through the day.

Stay tuned for our next work day at the site. Now we have the momentum going! Watch us Grow!
