The City of Alameda Needs your help!

Community Input for the Alameda Beltline Design Needed

We hope that you can join Project LEAF and help the city of Alameda to design the Beltline property. We want to see more Urban Farms on the Island, so please show your support if you can!

A unique opportunity to design a new community park at the 22-acre Beltline located in the heart of the island.  To maximize that opportunity, the City needs input from the community.
Community design input meetings will be held Saturday, Feb. 9th from 10:00am—12:00pm at the O’Club at 641 W. Redline Ave. and Wednesday, Feb. 13th  from 7:00pm—9:00pm at City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave., 3rd Floor.  The Feb. 13th meeting will also be televised live on Alameda TV, Ch. 15.  Community members may also provide feedback through surveys available online at the Alameda Recreation and Park Department (ARPD) website at www.cityofalamedaca.gov/Recreation or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/playARPD.
The City wants to gain insight and understanding of the community vision for the park to begin design and development of the Beltline area.  There are lots of ideas about the types of uses that should be located on this site such as community gardens, wildlife habitat, playgrounds, and sports fields.  It could be developed as a very passive park, more active park uses or a combination of both, based on community need and funding opportunities.
The press release and flyer are posted on the Alameda Recreation and Parks Department web site.  Please forward this email to anyone who may be interested.  Thank you for your assistance.
